compaq evo n610c pcmcia doesnt work?

i tried to put an 'msi wireless 11g cardbus' (wifi card) into the slot but it feels like its not even locking in properly or the pins are not connecting, ive tried it with the ejector in and out but the pc wont recognise the card at all
