Can anyone help clear up these questions about my T-mobile plan?
I recently bought a Wing, I am part of a family plan and we have unlimited texts. I didn't get any of the internet upgrades
So I was asking the guy who worked there some questions and he kept dancing around the answer, he would never give me a straight "yes", so I never really got my answers, can you help?
1. Is wifi free? wifi is like, when I connect to unsecure wireless networks anywhere like home or school right? So if I connect to it using my Wing and browse the internet is it completely free? I get this option thats like, "connect to Work or Internet (or internet and work using VPN) My booklet says I'll be charged for VPN (or something like that I forgot the specific 3 letters) so whats the deal? Is it free?
and secondly, is AIM free? It connects to EDGE, and EDGE costs money right? The guy working was like "well most phones nowadays have free AIM, like any phone you find will have it free" which isn't a yes...

1. Yes if you can find a WiFi hotspot to use, then its 100% free. If your phone is connected to a WiFi network then browsing the internet is completely free since it doesn't use T-Mobile network. VPN = Virtual private network, I don't know much about VPN, sorry.
When you sign on, send, recieve IM(s) from AIM it use the internet, I not sure if the Wing also WiFi to connect to AIM, if it doesn't then yes it does cost money since it use T-Mobile network (EDGE) to use the service.
**Edit: EDGE is NOT free. You need to have a internet plan (or data plan) from T-Mobile, or you will be charge by KB(s) to use EDGE.
