Keep USB power on while computer is off?
Is there a way to keep the power going to the usb port while the computer is off, on standby or in hibernate?
I want to charge my ipod, phone and other electronics without having the power draw and loudness of the computer being on.
No. Because the USB ports are part of the motherboard, it must be powered up for the ports to be accessible.

I get a lot of flak for not keeping my desk and my computer clean. I saw a USB-powered Mini Vacuum Cleaner for Computer & Keyboard at my friend’s place. He was all praises for it and urged me to get one. I bought one on my way back home and began using this Mini Vacuum Cleaner to clean my desktop I should say that it does a perfect job. The USB KY-8081 Vacuum Cleaner is also compact in size and sits in my drawer perfectly.
There are no power issues with this Mini Vacuum Cleaner as no batteries or AC-input is required. Just plug this computer mini vacuum cleaner into one of the USB ports and get started with the cleaning. (Never unplug the keyboard mini vacuum cleaner from the USB when the system is still in use). It also requires very less energy to function. There are two switch levels; the first one activates the LED light and the next level turns on the Mini Vacuum Cleaner.
This Mini Vacuum Cleaner comes with accessories such as a flexible rubber tool and a bristle brush to clean different parts of the computer. The keyboard attachment rubber is used to vacuum all the dust hidden underneath the keyboard keys. Just slide the squeezable tube between keys and get rid of all that grime and grit under the keys. For cleaning the air vent, fan, monitor and other areas, use the brush and suction tube attachment.
You need not worry even if there is a thick layer of dust. All you need to do is turn on the “High Power” button and increase the suction power. But do not press this button when the motor is switched on so that the voltage jump is within USB limits.
