Optic Connector
Are there different kinds of optical audio cables?
I am looking to buy an optical/Fibre Optic audio cable for my Blu-Ray player so I can get true 5.1 surround sound but I noticed that there seem to be different types of optical cables. I've seen stuff about Toslink and Justlink and Halo connectors. Are there different types of optical cables? Do I need to buy a specific type of optical cable to correspond with my optical jacks on my receiver and player? What is the difference between these different names of parts of optical cables, if there is one? Thanks for your help!
Most Digital Fiber-optic cables, like the ones you find in Wal-Mart, support all Home Theater recievers and Blu-ray players.
I myself am using a Philips Digital fiber-optic cable for my PS3, and the sound quality is great.
