My International Wireless Kindle reached India on 22nd October, just three days after launch. Am sooooo happy! No problematic issues at all. Wikipedia works with one or two pictures thrown in, lovely! Books are only $2.00 more expensive than our US counterparts, but still okay. Although bestsellers/paperbacks are way too cheap in the local market here, reading on Kindle is a completely different experience.
Already subscribed to London Times, TLS and Foreign Affairs. No pics, but all the articles seem to be there. Would have liked to have New Yorker, but for the time being due to its non-availability in India, will continue with my print subscription (also because cannot miss the pics and cartoons). Everybody in the family wants to read on Wireless Kindle. Although we do read a lot, I hope Kindle would take it even further. My son (9 years) is already asking for his own Wireless Kindle. May be some day...
Strongly needed: Folders to be able to organize by 300+ digital book collection (and I have just started). Hoping a firmware would be posted soon... Am experimenting with tags, but it's not the same thing.
P.S. What a surprise! Just when we thought the transaction with Amazon was over, they throw in $20 refund! The reason for refund mentioned in the email was "item not satisfactory". Although this must be some kind of formal requirement to be able to process refund to an international customer, I totally disagree with those words (brought tears to my son's eyes)! Anyhow, Amazon did not need to do this, not after the product was delivered. But I guess that's how their business works. They have always surprised me in the past as well and proven that customer satisfaction was their utmost priority. Keep up the great work!

P.P.S. (December 16, 2009): Yet another refund!
As promised earlier, Amazon informed me today that a refund of $44.53 has been processed towards import duty deposit surplus paid by me.
