Can I block certain websites from a router?
I have the main desktop computer and my fiance has the laptop. We had suddenlink cable internet, thats hooked up to a Etherfast Cable/Dsl Router.
We use ethernet cords.
Is there anyways I can block certain sites through our router, its not wireless?
Yes they're porn sites.
But he looks at them on this computer too, and I have norton installed on this one with parental controls, but I cant log on to his laptop, and block it on there.
So how do I block it through a router?
No comments about how I should let him, and so on.
I pay for the internet, I can do as I please.
Enter the setting page of the router, usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 depending on the Router (read manual)
from there you have to go to URL filtering and add the web sites or part of the name like "porn" or "sex" and save the settings.
you may need to soft restart the router to take effect.
any website have any one of these words cannot be viewed.
