Belkin Kvm
I have 2 PC's and a Mac G4. I want to use a KVM switch. How can I do this without compatibility issues?
Right now I have a belkin PS2 KVM switch hooked up to my 2 PCs and G4. All of that is hooked up to a Kensington WIRELESS keyboard and mouse.
It seems I am having some sort of compatability issue, because the Mac only recognizes the keyboard and mouse when it wants to - even though it is meant for MAC/PC.
Becuase of this I think the KVM switch is causing an issue.
is there a better way to make this work?
I'm guessing it is the wireless that is causing the problems. Try using the wired keyboard & mouse for test purposes. At home I use a StarTech KVM with Macs & PC's with no problems, but a wired setup. I've heard of flaky issues with BlueTooth from both sides.
If the wired test works fine, then go back to the wireless, Startup with the Mac selected, wait for startup process to completely finish before you do anything at all with the pc or KVM, then do the same thing on the pc side. If problem returns, I'd contact Kensington support.
