I really need help concerning with wireless internet card and router?
I already have Verizon dsl internet connection but I would like to buy a laptop soon and possibly instead of having all these wires and crap in the way, I would like to have Verizon wireless internet instead. Can I purchase this card only and the router and then just connect it to the laptop? What are the requirements or things I have to do? I'm really confused and I'm sorry if the information I provided is vague but I really don't have a clue so yeah. Also, I live with my younger brother and I would like to do the same thing for him, too. Do I have to buy another router and another wireless internet card? What's the deal? If anyone can help me that'd be more than appreciated.
You need one wireless access point (WAP) and a Wireless Network adapter for each computer that needs to connect to the WAP. Plug the WAP into your Verizon Dsl Modem using a network cable. Then put a wireless adapter on your notebook and on your brothers. Get the same brand WAP and adapters so that the instructions are consistent. I recommend Netgear or Linksys. Good luck!
